Action against poverty - Mandela day 2019

On 18 July, the hearX Group team celebrated Mandela Day at Laerskool Generaal Beyers Primary School in Danville, Pretoria. As part of our 67 minutes of making a social impact, we had the privilege to screen the hearing of 183 Grade 1 learners using our hearScreen^® solution.

World hearing day with Tembisa

On 01 March, the hearX Group team had the privilege to visit the Motsu Park Community Hall in Tembisa for World Hearing Day, as part of an initiative by the World Health Organization. The purpose of this day is to draw attention to the importance of early identification and intervention for hearing loss.

Nelson Mandela Day screening children for hearing problems

On the 18th of June, the hearX Group team had the privilege to visit Laerskool Generaal Beyers for Nelson Mandela Day. We celebrated this very special day by screening the hearing of over 100 school children using our hearScreen^® technology.

hearX Group launches Tirelo Bosha project

hearX Group, in partnership with UP Enterprises and CoT, has launched the Tirelo Bosha project with a target of screening 70,000 adults and children in Tshwane over the next 18 months. The project will be concluded by November 2018 using our hearScreen^®, hearTest and hearScope mobile health applications.

SUCCESS STORY FOR THE USABILITY OF
HEARSCREEN^® IN THE COMMUNITY

The Ears & Eyes for Education (3E) community-based programme in the Western Cape (South Africa) utilises the hearScreen^® application to implement pre-school hearing screening at Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres. Lay health workers are trained to conduct the hearing screening service using hearScreen^®. To date, the 3E teams have screened more than 18 500 preschool children for hearing loss using the hearScreen^® app.
