Action Against Poverty - Mandela Day 2019

On Thursday,18 July, the hearX Group team celebrated Mandela Day at Laerskool Generaal Beyers Primary School in Danville, Pretoria. As part of our 67 minutes of making a social impact, we had the privilege to screen the hearing of 183 Grade 1 learners using our hearScreen solution. We were able to identify six children with potential hearing loss, and were happy to provide them with the opportunity to get professional help from local audiologists.

Meanwhile in Cape Town, our Ears & Eyes for Education (3E) team joined forces with Ster-Kinekor to bring light in the lives of children.

3E Cape Town, a collaboration between the hearX Group and the Carel du Toit Centre provided hearing screenings whilst Ster-Kinekor’s Vision Mission provided pre-identified children with spectacles. Afterwards, the children were spoilt with a movie and popcorn!

We had such a great experience and would like to thank all the parties who contributed in bringing healthy hearing to everyone, everywhere!
